Transient splenial lesion

40 year old male; acute onset paresthesias

Case Discussion

MR reveals solitary lesion in the splenium of corpus callosum. The lesion is hyperintense on T2/ FLAIR, hypointense on T1 and shows diffusion restriction.

Patient had viral upper respiratory infection and fever 2 weeks earlier

Presumptive MR diagnosis: Demyelinating lesion

Clinical improvement after Steroid treament

Presumed Demyelination. On follow up MRI the lesion is completely resolved.
