Esophageal carcinoma - with apple core appearance

Dysphagia, more to solids.

Patient Data

Age: 50 years
Gender: Male

Double contrast barium oesophagram shows a long segment irregular narrowing of the mid thoracic esophagus with mucosal irregularity and typical apple core appearance, suggestive of esophageal carcinoma.

Case Discussion

Oesophagoscopic biopsy revealed squamous cell carcinoma.
