40 year old male patient complaining of confusion

Patient Data

Age: 40 years
Gender: Male

Bilateral globus pallidus oval shpaed areas of altered signals eliciting low T1 and high T2 and FLAIR signals. Similar smaller foci are also seen at the left putamen.

Case Discussion

This case was confirmed as CO intoxication

Other causes of bilateral globus pallidus lesions include Leigh disease, Wilson disease, Creutzfeldt Jacob disease as well as other toxic encephalopathies such as cyanide and methanol intoxications
