Annular pancreas

1st episode of jaundice.

Patient Data

Age: about 15 yrs
Gender: Male

Irregular shaped tubular hyperechoic area was noted in head region of pancreas while scanning empty stomach. Rim of pancreatic parenchyma was seen surrounding this. With water intake, fluid was seen in this area. Later air was also seen within.

Periportal cuffing is present.

Few reactive periportal nodes are present.

Gall bladder shows odematous wall with collapsed lumen. No calculus present.

Main pancreatic duct was not dilated.

Common bile duct could not be localized.
