Name some complications of IABP?
Too high placement will cut off supply to left arm, left carotid, etc. Too low placement wil cut off mesenteric splanchic supply, Heparin related complications. Since it is in a femoral artery, trauma to this causes leg ischemia.
Do not miss to describe the IABP Catheter. The balloon is radiolucent but the tip has a radio-opaque marker.
